Job Description

Sunbelt is now interviewing Step Down nurses for a contract assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. Must have two years experience in the field. Please have updated resume and two professional references ready. 


  1. Education:

    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Georgia.
  2. Certifications:

    • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
    • Certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN) is desirable.
  3. Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a step-down or progressive care setting.



  1. Patient Assessment and Monitoring:

    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients transitioning from the ICU to the step-down unit.
    • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other relevant parameters to identify changes in patient condition.
  2. Intermediate Care Interventions:

    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring patient responses.
    • Perform and assist with procedures such as wound care, central line maintenance, and patient education.
  3. Collaborative Care:

    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for step-down patients.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support during the transition to a lower level of care.
