A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) opportunity is available in a welcoming outpatient environment specializing in orthopedics, neurological conditions, and general debility. This contract role is based at a well-equipped rehabilitation unit in Northwestern Indiana, providing comprehensive physical therapy services with a focus on quality patient care.
Responsibilities include delivering one-on-one treatment sessions for patients dealing with orthopedic and neurological challenges. The role requires flexibility to float between outpatient sites to meet patient care demands. The care team utilizes advanced equipment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and Lite Gait systems, with patient records maintained through an electronic medical record system.
Key Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of one year of physical therapy assistant experience, with a strong preference for outpatient orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.
- Valid state license and CPR certification.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Physical Therapy is required.
- Ability to work within a team-oriented environment while adapting to patient needs.
- Professional appearance adhering to dress code policies, including charcoal gray scrubs and appropriate footwear.
Schedule and Work Environment:
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, approximately 36 hours per week.
- No weekend or on-call responsibilities.
- The facility has 25 beds and maintains a 1:1 patient treatment ratio, fostering personalized care.
