Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist with hospital experience preferred
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, treatment planning, and therapy interventions
  • Familiarity with APTA standards and evidence-based care practices
  • Strong communication skills for engaging patients, families, and team members
  • Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ability to supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants as required
  • Excellent documentation and medical record-keeping abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional image, demonstrating exceptional customer service with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues
  • Evaluate referred patients utilizing specialized assessment tools and interpret findings to develop individualized treatment plans focused on both short and long-term goals
  • Deliver physical therapy treatments as ordered, involving staff and family when appropriate, and keeping care timely and safe
  • Participate in departmental meetings, educational sessions, and service initiatives, contributing to program and staff development
  • Oversee quality and safety in the work environment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to all policies and procedures
  • Assist with schedule adjustments to meet departmental caseload demands
  • Supervise treatment teams and maintain ongoing communication with PTAs regarding patient progress and goal setting
  • Employ current research to support and refine intervention strategies
