Job Description

Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Crystal Lake, IL
August 19, 2024- May 30, 2025
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours daily)
PreK-8th grade

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultations and in-services to students, teachers, parents, and community groups to facilitate students' participation within the school and community.
  • Adapt the environment and materials specific to students' disabilities to support their learning.
  • Provide instruction on the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
  • Travel to different schools within the district as needed


Requirements:

  • Must be licensed as a Teacher for Visually Impaired (TVI) in Illinois (PEL).
  • Experience working with students who are visually impaired or blind preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
