Job Description

Sunbelt is hiring a full-time teacher for the visually impaired near Riverview, FL, where you can work with K-12 students with various caseloads. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in a K-12 setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student's unique needs
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to accommodate visual impairments
  • Prepares sequential and meaningful instruction geared to the student’s assessed needs, IEP goals and objectives, functioning, and motivational levels.  This instruction should be reflected in weekly or monthly lesson plans, as appropriate.
  • Provides assistance to the classroom teacher in academic subjects and activities of the classroom that, as a direct result of the student’s visual impairment, require adaptation for the student.
  • Travel to different locations within the area to serve students as needed

Requirements:

  • Valid license as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across different grade levels
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and specialized teaching techniques for visually impaired students
