Job Description

Sunbelt is currently scheduling interviews for a full-time Special Education teacher in the Orland Park, IL area. We are looking for applicants with previous experience working with disabled students in a school environment.

SPED Qualifications:

IL SPED License
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
IL LBS1 Endorsement Required
Passion for working with children

SPED Responsibilities:

Assist and work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities
Participate in IEP conferences
Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
Employ various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals
Conduct special education evaluations as needed
Assess student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques
