Job Description

Special Education School Teacher Opportunity – Franklin, VA
Sunbelt is seeking a Special Education School Teacher to fill an open role within a Franklin, VA area school district. This school is looking for someone can start at the beginning of the 23/24 school year and assist their student reach their educational goals throughout the full year. Work with a school district that supports its teachers!

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or related fields
Must have an active VA SPED Teacher Certificate with Early Childhood endorsement/experience.
Previous Special Education Teaching experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to pass a Drug screen and background check.

Job specifics:

Full-time: 37.5hrs/wk, Monday – Friday
Conduct assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students to identify learning issues.
Recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.
Assist students and teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior modification plans.
Coordinate with administrators and other staff.
Participate in and develop IEPs.
