(SLPA or SLP) Speech Language Pathology Assistant with Benefits School Based- Redwood City, CA Area
Key Responsibilities:
For SLPA:
- Work closely with the SLP to implement therapy sessions as outlined in student-specific treatment plans
- Engage students in individual and group therapy to support communication goals
- Track and document student progress meticulously, providing regular feedback to the SLP
- Prepare therapy materials, adjusting activities to match the needs of each student
- Collaborate with the SLP, teachers, and families to ensure well-rounded support for student development
For SLP:
- Perform detailed evaluations to assess and diagnose communication and language disorders
- Create individualized therapy plans designed to target each student’s unique needs
- Conduct therapy sessions, both in one-on-one and group settings, to improve students' speech and language skills
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert guidance on strategies for student progress
- Work with teachers, parents, and other specialists to build a supportive environment for students
Qualifications:
- For SLPA: Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is required
- For SLP: Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Experience in a school setting is preferred for both roles
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are a must
- A genuine passion for helping students achieve their communication potential is essential
