(SLP or SLPA) Speech Language Pathologist W/ Benefits Full or Part Time School Based- Algonquin, IL
Key Responsibilities:
For SLP:
- Perform detailed assessments to identify and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop customized therapy plans that address each student's specific needs
- Provide both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication abilities
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing expert advice and recommendations for student success
- Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support network for students
For SLPA:
- Assist the SLP by conducting therapy sessions according to established treatment plans
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to help them achieve their communication goals
- Document and monitor student progress, providing regular updates to the SLP
- Prepare and adapt materials for therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate closely with the SLP, teachers, and families to ensure that students receive comprehensive care and support
Qualifications:
- For SLP: A valid Speech-Language Pathologist license is required
- For SLPA: Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is essential
- Experience in a school environment is preferred for both roles
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are vital
- A deep commitment to helping students reach their full communication potential is crucial
