We are seeking a highly skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our dedicated team in a reputable school district located near Las Vegas, NV. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff members. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experience of students who rely on sign language as their primary mode of communication.

Responsibilities:

Provide professional sign language interpretation during classroom activities, lectures, discussions, and school events.
Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and hearing individuals, including teachers, administrators, and fellow students.
Translate spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, ensuring accurate and clear delivery of information.

Qualifications:

Possession of a valid Sign Language Interpreter certification from a recognized institution or state licensing board.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and fluency in English.
Proven experience in providing sign language interpretation services in an educational setting, preferably within a school district.
Strong knowledge of deaf culture and awareness of diverse communication needs.
