Your itinerant position enables you to help students reach their highest potential while fostering inclusive learning environments across diverse classroom settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification for teaching students who are visually impaired
- Successful experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in adapting curricula and utilizing assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with district staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to supporting the unique needs of each student and advocating for accessibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments across multiple campuses
- Assess students needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with staff and families
- Provide training and guidance on Braille, low vision devices, and assistive technology
- Support classroom teachers and district staff with strategies to ensure an inclusive environment
- Regularly travel between assigned schools as part of an itinerant role
