Make a real impact supporting learners by converting essential educational materials into accessible formats. This full-time contract position runs from mid-August through June and is perfect for a skilled Braille Transcriptionist ready to collaborate closely with teachers of the visually impaired. You'll help ensure that students who are blind or have low vision participate fully and confidently in their academic environment.

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least one year of experience with Braille typing equipment
• Certification as a Braille transcriber preferred
• Ability to work effectively on a team and communicate professionally with educators
• Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
• Reliability and strong organizational skills are a must

Primary Responsibilities:

• Convert printed educational materials, including textbooks, classroom handouts, and tests, into accurate Braille versions
• Collaborate closely with teachers of the visually impaired to maintain instructional consistency and meet students needs
• Ensure timely preparation and distribution of accessible materials
• Support students academic success by providing high-quality, error-free transcription
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy standards related to student information
• Work within school guidelines under provided supervision as needed
