Job Description

A professional opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students across multiple schools. This contract role involves a caseload requiring approximately 700 minutes per week, distributed across 2-3 schools within the district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure accessible learning environments.
  • Conduct assessments and develop adaptive materials tailored to student needs.
  • Train and support staff and families on visual impairment strategies and assistive technologies.
  • Travel between assigned schools to deliver consistent and effective services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teacher certification specific to visual impairments.
  • Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop individualized instructional strategies and materials.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between multiple school locations as assigned.
