Job Description

This telehealth opportunity is designed for licensed Teachers for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized support to K-12 students across Forest Lake, MN. The role focuses on delivering remote vision-related instruction and consultations to meet the unique educational needs of visually impaired learners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and monitoring student progress to adjust instructional strategies.
  • Collaborating with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support.
  • Utilizing telehealth platforms effectively to deliver high-quality services.
  • Documenting services accurately in the districts designated IEP system, with training provided to facilitate efficient use.
  • Participating in paid team meetings and utilizing allotted administrative time to manage caseload requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience with telehealth service delivery preferred.
  • Knowledge of K-12 educational standards and IEP development.
  • Strong communication skills for virtual collaboration with students, families, and educators.
  • Ability to manage an itinerant caseload with dedicated travel time factored in.
  • Compliance with district fingerprinting and credentialing requirements.

  • Contract length corresponds with the current school year (CSY).
  • Workload follows the districts caseload model, with specifics on caseload caps provided upon placement.
  • Assignment to multiple schools within the district with itinerant travel compensated.
  • Interview processes may be conducted via video or phone, with individual or panel formats available.
  • Comprehensive orientation and ongoing training opportunities related to district initiatives and telehealth technologies.
  • Efficient contract review and offer timelines aim to expedite placement decisions.
