Job Description

A specialized educator is needed to provide tailored instruction to students with visual impairments in a middle school setting. This role is focused on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all K-12 students.

Qualifications:

  • South Carolina certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in middle school
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies for students with visual impairments
  • Commitment to professional development and best practices in education

Location:

  • Summerville, SC, with onsite responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to students' individual needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create a supportive learning environment
  • Conduct assessments and evaluate student progress in conjunction with IEP goals
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning
