Job Description
A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a contract basis for the 2025-2026 school year. This role is designed to support students with visual impairments by providing specialized instruction and adapting general education curriculum to meet their individual needs.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments and evaluations to determine each student's academic and functional needs, developing and implementing tailored instructional strategies, and collaborating closely with other educators and support staff to facilitate students achievement of educational goals. The position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and runs from August 25, 2025, through June 5, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
