This onsite position is perfect for a passionate professional certified as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). The role involves supporting students across five local schools and requires someone energetic, adaptable, and skilled in Braille instruction.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid FL DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired certification (required)
• Experience teaching or supporting children and adolescents ages pre-K through high school who are visually impaired
• Proficiency in Braille instruction and assistive technology
• Strong communication and consultative skills with students, educators, and families
• Ability to work comfortably across multiple campuses within a district
• District fingerprinting clearance (with possible use of AHCA Clearinghouse records)
• Previous school-based or similar educational setting experience highly valued

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct TVI services to a caseload of 12 students, fulfilling the required 690 service minutes per week
• Conduct two consults weekly for additional support needs
• Travel between assigned campuses as needed to provide instruction and collaboration
• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, tailored to their strengths and needs
• Teach Braille, adaptive techniques, and use of specialized devices, empowering learners toward greater independence
• Serve as a key resource for professional staff and families regarding best practices and tools for visually impaired students
