Job Description

Seeking a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction for students in grades K-12. This full-time, contract position supports a caseload averaging 22 students per teacher, focusing on educational services tailored to visually impaired learners.

Location: Stafford, VA (Washington DC Area)
Duration: Contract position, Current School Year (CSY), starting ASAP through 5/29/2026
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, onsite only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive instruction aligned with individual education plans for visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels
  • Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technology to enhance learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and service providers to support student success
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Advocate for student needs within the school setting and align with Virginia DOE standards

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia DOE certification specifically for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 22 students and tailor instruction appropriately
