We're seeking a passionate professional with specialized experience in teaching students with visual impairments to provide expert consultation and instruction on a part-time, onsite basis. Working two days per week, youll collaborate with a diverse team and serve a K-12 caseload, creating a positive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License
• Background in consulting and direct instruction for students with visual impairments (K-12 preferred)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with educators, families, and support staff
• Passion for fostering independence, confidence, and academic success among students
• Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide consultation and resources to classroom teachers, adapting lessons and materials for visually impaired students
• Deliver direct, specialized instruction to students across various age groups and needs
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized education program (IEP) goals related to visual impairment
• Recommend assistive technology and classroom modifications to enhance student participation
• Serve as an advocate and resource for families, ensuring access to appropriate services and supports
