Job Description

Make a real impact supporting students across K-12 as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a collaborative, onsite environment near Roxbury Crossing, MA. This contract position offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful educational services, working closely with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams, from August 24, 2026, through June 16, 2027. You'll work 32.5 hours a week, ensuring every student receives the guidance and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification/License
  • Experience providing instruction and support to visually impaired students, ideally across various grade levels (K-12)
  • Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with school staff, students, and families
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive classroom environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to create accessible learning experiences
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
  • Utilize assistive technology and support students in achieving educational goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress to families and school teams
  • Promote independence and self-advocacy skills among students
