An educational opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specializing in teaching students with visual impairments. This full-time, onsite position is based in Plainfield, Illinois, with a contract running from ASAP through the end of the school year.
The role involves working closely with visually impaired students, providing tailored instruction, assessment, and support to enhance their learning experiences and independence. You will join a collaborative educational environment focused on maximizing student success through individualized programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are visually impaired.
- Develop and adapt educational materials and curricula to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Impaired (SLI) License.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience or training in teaching students with visual impairments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to student-centered educational practices.
