Engage in a rewarding full-time opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract position is based onsite, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of visually impaired students within a supportive educational environment in Plainfield, IL. The role spans the school year, starting ASAP through the end of the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Teacher of the Visually Impaired (IL TVI) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and development
- Conduct assessments to determine student progress and adapt instructional strategies
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance educational outcomes
- Maintain detailed documentation and comply with state and district guidelines
