Job Description

Engage in a rewarding full-time opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract position is based onsite, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of visually impaired students within a supportive educational environment in Plainfield, IL. The role spans the school year, starting ASAP through the end of the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher of the Visually Impaired (IL TVI) license
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and development
  • Conduct assessments to determine student progress and adapt instructional strategies
  • Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance educational outcomes
