Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification or relevant experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher or Braillist
• Proficiency in teaching Braille and utilizing adaptive technology to support visually impaired students
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, faculty, and families
• Knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) development and adaptation
• Ability to assess student needs and tailor instruction appropriately

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials as needed
• Transcribe educational content into Braille and other accessible formats
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create inclusive classroom experiences
• Support classroom accessibility through technology and tactile learning tools
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings to advocate for student needs and accommodations
