A contract position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to work with a high school student in Forest Lake, MN. This role involves providing specialized vision instruction and compensatory services to support the students educational needs. The assignment is part of the current school year (CSY) and requires approximately 2.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored vision services and compensatory instruction to a high school student with visual impairments
- Collaborate with district staff and support personnel (such as paraprofessionals or related service providers) as needed
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes aligned with the students Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Adapt teaching methods and materials suitable for visual impairment challenges
- Ensure compliance with relevant educational standards and TVI licensure requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
- Experience providing direct services to visually impaired students at the high school level
- Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and instructional strategies for visual impairments
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and follow district supervision protocols
Location: Forest Lake, Minnesota
Assignment Duration: ASAP start through End of School Year (EOSY)
Hours: Approximately 2.5 hours per week
