This contract role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time options for the 2026-2027 academic year. You'll have the chance to work closely with students, families, and staff, supporting the unique needs of learners and fostering independence through adapted instruction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active North Carolina Teaching License with TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) and O&M (Orientation & Mobility) endorsement
  • Proficiency in ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability and Tracking System)
  • Previous school-based experience as a TVI is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to working with educators and families
  • Commitment to following district policies and adhering to state and federal guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in PreK12 settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt instructional materials to ensure accessibility
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and related service providers
  • Offer orientation and mobility training to promote student independence
  • Maintain up-to-date records and participate in IEP meetings
  • Communicate progress with families and team members
