Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans for students with visual impairments
• Proficiency in teaching Braille and utilizing assistive technology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, educators, and support staff
• Flexibility in managing a diverse caseload across multiple locations

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services to a caseload of 18 students (13 with IEPs and 5 with 504 accommodation plans), including those learning Braille
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school teams to adapt curricula and environments for visually impaired students
• Assess students abilities and needs, develop individualized teaching strategies, and monitor progress
• Participate in IEP meetings, document services, and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
