Seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support students in a dynamic K-12 educational environment located in Hampton, VA. This contract position runs for the school year, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of visually impaired students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education, with a focus on visual impairments preferred
• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment or related field
• Strong understanding of instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Experience working in K-12 settings is a plus
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive materials

Location:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Provide guidance and support to students in the use of assistive technology
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student development
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and relevant training
