This full-time, contract opportunity places you at the heart of a supportive education team, ensuring students have access to curriculum resources tailored to their unique needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Passing score on the ParaPro Test, an associates degree, or a bachelors degree required.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB) within one year of employment, verified by one of the following:
  • Braille competency test (Washington State School for the Blind)
  • National Certification in Unified English Braille exam (NBPCB)
  • Library of Congress Certificate in Literary Braille Transcribing
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and students.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Transcribe educational materials into braille and tactile graphics to ensure equitable access for students.
• Prepare and adapt classroom materials into accessible formats in alignment with the general education curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers for the visually impaired and general educators to assess student needs and adjust resources accordingly.
• Support the implementation of technology and adaptive tools for visually impaired students.
• Maintain accurate records of materials produced and students served.
