Job Description

This itinerant, onsite role offers the opportunity to work closely with district teams while providing essential services to visually impaired students.

Key requirements:

  • Valid and current Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired
  • Ability to travel between multiple district locations during the school day
  • Strong communication skills for effective partnership with educators, staff, and families
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing student needs and district schedules
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success

Primary responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments across multiple schools
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Provide specialized instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
  • Support classroom teachers by offering strategies and adaptations to foster inclusion
  • Maintain thorough documentation of services, progress, and required reports
  • Collaborate effectively with other professionals, sharing expertise and resources
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training as needed
