Job Description
A school district in Fresno, CA is seeking a dedicated professional to provide specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for students in grades K-12. This contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite, delivering comprehensive support and services to visually impaired students throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services and support tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
- Administer tests and assessments to determine student abilities and progress.
- Complete thorough evaluations and collaborate closely during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Write and implement IEPs to ensure each student's educational needs are being met effectively.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to optimize learning environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid California Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license.
- Experience in providing specialized instruction for visually impaired students.
- Strong knowledge of assessment procedures and IEP processes for K-12 learners.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and team members.
Working Conditions:
