Job Description

A K-12 school located in Framingham, MA is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction for students with visual impairments. This contract position offers both full-time and part-time hours and spans the entire school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
  • Strong knowledge of adapted instructional techniques and assistive technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
  • Provide direct instruction in areas such as braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive devices.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Consult with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support inclusive education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
