Job Description

A high school is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized support to a student with visual impairments. This part-time contract position involves delivering compensatory and direct instructional services tailored to the students needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the students visual and learning needs to develop personalized educational strategies
  • Providing direct instruction and adaptations to facilitate access to the curriculum
  • Collaborating with school staff and other service providers to ensure coordinated support
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting teaching methods as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with high school-aged students with visual impairments
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and technologies to support visually impaired learners
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational teams

Location: Forest Lake, MN (High School)

Hours: Approximately 2.5 hours per week, with a contract running from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY)

  • Supervision will be provided by the district through paraeducators or related support staff
