Job Description

This opportunity is for a part-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students in a school setting located in Flushing, NY. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students to enhance their academic achievement and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive TVI services according to IEPs and school requirements
  • Implement assessment, instruction, and accommodations tailored to students' visual needs
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and caseload documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development as required

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State TVI License
  • Bachelors degree or higher in education or related field
  • Experience working with visually impaired K-12 students preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite two days per week on a part-time basis
