Job Description

A K-12 educational institution in Fitchburg, MA, is seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support students with visual disabilities. This is a contract position available for the new school year, offering both full-time and part-time onsite opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across K-12 grades.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to enhance learning accessibility.
  • Utilize specialized teaching methods and adaptive technologies to promote student independence and success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and related service providers.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with visual impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and low vision devices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments.
