A school district in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join their team for the upcoming school year. This full-time, onsite position offers a contract lasting from ASAP through the end of the school year.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, families, and other educational professionals to ensure effective learning
- Utilizing assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance student access to curriculum
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular updates to stakeholders
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Illinois Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license required
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of an educational team
