Job Description
A K-12 school in Chowchilla, CA, is seeking a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a contracted school year position. This role involves providing direct services to students with visual impairments, including conducting tests and assessments, completing evaluations, and participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings by writing and reviewing IEPs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Performing comprehensive assessments to evaluate students educational needs
- Collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers during IEP development and implementation
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to optimize learning outcomes
- Documenting services, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to reporting requirements
Qualifications and experience:
- Valid California Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
- Demonstrated expertise in working with K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies tailored to visually impaired learners
- Ability to conduct thorough assessments and write detailed IEPs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
