Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students. This contract position covers maternity leave from January 5, 2026, through April 3, 2026 (tentative dates) and is located in Chesterfield, VA.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across K-12 age groups
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching techniques and assistive technology for visually impaired learners

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized educational plans tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Provide consultative services to families regarding students visual impairments and support services
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with stakeholders
