Job Description

A unique opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is passionate about making a lasting impact on students lives. This contract role is located near Charlotte, NC, and provides flexibility with both full-time and part-time options for the upcoming academic year. The assignment begins August 2026 and extends through early June 2027, serving students across diverse educational settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina TVI license with Orientation & Mobility (O&M) endorsement
  • Experience in school-based services for visually impaired students
  • Proficiency with ECATS documentation and compliance procedures
  • Strong collaboration skills for partnering with educational teams, families, and related service providers
  • Commitment to fostering independence and academic achievement in students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative vision services to students as specified in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments to determine students instructional and accessibility needs
  • Develop and adapt lesson materials, incorporating assistive technology as needed
  • Advise and coach classroom teachers and support personnel on best practices for visually impaired students
  • Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations
