Job Description

A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve K-12 students. This role is on a W2 contract basis for the current school year (CSY) in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across all grade levels.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and materials.
  • Conducting assessments to determine students needs and progress.
  • Utilizing assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Supporting students development of independent living and academic skills.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a K-12 setting.
  • Knowledge of specialized teaching methods and tools for visually impaired students.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students with visual impairments.
