In this contract opportunity, you'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and school staff to provide specialized instruction and advocacy that empowers students to achieve their fullest potential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
  • Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Proficiency with braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional materials
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for fostering student independence
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and modify curriculum for students with visual impairments
  • Assess student needs and collaborate in developing and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct and consultative services to classroom teachers, support staff, and families
  • Train students in the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments and accommodations
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success
