Empower K-12 students by bringing your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a dedicated school for the blind near Baltimore. As a valued professional in this contract role, youll play a pivotal part in delivering tailored instruction, resources, and encouragement to students across all grade levels, fostering their independence and confidence both inside the classroom and beyond.
Your commitment will make a lasting impact as you:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Adapt instructional materials and resources to meet students unique learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families to create an inclusive learning environment
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and other vital skills
- Guide classroom staff on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
To thrive in this position, you will need:
- Valid Maryland Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure
- Previous experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassion, adaptability, and a drive to inspire confidence in your students
