Job Description

Exciting opportunity for educators specializing in visual impairment to make a meaningful impact in a K-12 environment. This contract position is based in Aurora, IL, and extends until May 28, 2025. The role is designed for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs through an itinerant schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teaching License with endorsement in Visual Impairment
  • Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in an itinerant role
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum as needed

Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement appropriate educational programs tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Conduct assessments and evaluate students progress in alignment with IEP goals
  • Provide direct instruction and support in various settings, as per the itinerant schedule
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
