Job Description

A part-time opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students with visual impairments in Atlanta, GA. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending in May 2026. The role is onsite and requires a dedicated professional passionate about enhancing learning accessibility for students with specialized needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 30 minutes of direct instruction daily to students with visual impairments, adjusting as needed based on individual student requirements
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to facilitate accommodations and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Ensure all instructional materials are accessible and tailored to student needs
  • Provide consultation on assistive technology and accessibility to support compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) Special Education certification with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement
  • Certification in General Curriculum and complete clearance/documentation as required
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment educational strategies and assistive technologies
  • Ability to work effectively onsite and collaborate with a multidisciplinary school team
