Job Description
A high school position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Anoka, MN. This contract role will provide direct and compensatory services to a visually impaired high school student, requiring approximately 2.5 hours of service per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of the visually impaired student
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and adjust methods as needed
- Provide training and guidance to supervisory staff as applicable
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
- Experience working with visually impaired students at the high school level
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and compensatory strategies
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with school personnel
Location:
- Anoka, MN (position is based in a high school)
Contract Details:
- Duration: Current School Year (CSY)
- Hours: Approximately 2.5 hours per week
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Supervision: Provided by school district staff (such as paraeducators or specialized paraprofessionals)
