Job Description

A dynamic opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a K-12 educational setting. This role is pivotal in creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification or endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in a classroom setting
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students

Location:

  • Windsor, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate communication and learning
  • Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of students
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic and social development
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other school-related activities
