Job Description

A part-time teaching opportunity is available for an experienced educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students within a K-12 school environment in Westfield, MA. The position offers 15 hours per week during the current school year (CSY) under a contract arrangement, ideal for professionals dedicated to making a meaningful impact in specialized education.

Qualifications:

  • Valid MA DESE Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching license
  • Proven experience working with DHH students across K-12 age groups
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) development and implementation
  • Ability to modify and adapt curriculum content to meet the unique learning needs of DHH students
  • Skill in monitoring and evaluating student progress effectively

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and deliver specialized instructional programs tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Design and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, setting achievable goals and tracking progress
  • Adapt and provide curriculum materials to ensure accessibility and promote engagement
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and social development of DHH students
