A position is available for a dedicated and skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. This role is focused on providing high-quality educational experiences for K-12 students in a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nebraska TDHH License
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Proficient in using assistive technologies and teaching strategies for Deaf education
- Patience and compassion in addressing diverse learning styles and needs
Location:
- Columbus, NE (Itinerant position serving Richland and surrounding areas)
Responsibilities:
- Teach academic subjects through an adapted curriculum designed for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Create and implement IEPs, regularly assessing and adjusting as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with families, school staff, and specialist organizations to support student goals
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and IEP compliance
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional strategies
- Provide direct instruction and resources to facilitate effective learning experiences
- Ensure a safe and accessible learning environment for all students
