Job Description

Work as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing serving K-12 students in the Nashville area. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized educational support and services to students with hearing impairments within varied school assignments.

Location: On-site in the Nashville area, Tennessee (no hybrid or remote options)
Contract Duration: Immediate start through May 20, 2026 (Contract School Year)
Work Hours: 35-37.5 hours per week, full-time
Caseload: K-12 students, with services tailored based on individual student needs
Licensure: Active Tennessee Department of Education License required

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional services and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess students hearing and communication needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to optimize learning outcomes
  • Provide training and support to classroom teachers and staff regarding effective accommodations and communication strategies
  • Maintain required documentation and compliance with district and state regulations

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Tennessee DOE license in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with K-12 deaf and hard of hearing student populations
  • Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods, hearing technology, and educational accommodations
  • Ability to work onsite at multiple school locations within the district, adapting to varied caseloads
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and school personnel
