Job Description

This part-time teaching opportunity focuses on providing specialized education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) in a K-12 school setting. Located in Springfield, MA, this contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through tailored instruction and individualized support during the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and deliver specialized instruction to meet the needs of D/HH students.
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), establish measurable goals, and monitor student progress.
  • Adapt curriculum content to ensure accessibility, incorporating specialized materials and strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts DESE certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of educational strategies, curriculum adaptation, and assistive technologies tailored to D/HH students.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Position Details:

  • Location: Springfield, MA
  • Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week
  • Contract type: School Year (CSY)
