Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specializing in education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This role focuses on addressing the unique needs of middle and high school students, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
  • Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience teaching middle and high school-aged students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
  • Proficient in various instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate a comprehensive learning experience
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and any concerns
